There are 2 limits you should be aware of before importing products into Shopify:
- Each product can have up to 100 variants and 3 options. Therefore, out-of-bounds variants will be truncated if either the number of variants is greater than 100 or the number of options is more than 3. This limitation applies to both Shopify and Shopify Plus.
- Once your Shopify store reaches 50,000 variants, you can only add up to 1,000 new variants per day (24 hours). This limitation applies to all data import methods whether through Shopify app or CSV file upload, but it does not apply to Shopify Plus stores.

*Update: Since April 2024, Shopify has increased the variant limit per product from 100 to 2,000. This limit is gradually being rolled out to their stores. Our migration tool has also been updated to accommodate this new limit. Click here for more details.
